NDP News/Info Press Release Paramaribo, 29 July 2010 Gillmore Hoefdraad appointed next Governor of the Central Bank of Suriname The President-elect Desiré Bouterse underscores the importance of the Central Bank of Suriname as an autonomous institution, with the responsibility to guarantee price stability and ensure sound macro-economic policies. Given this, the President-elect informs the public of his intention to appoint Mr. Gillmore Hoefdraad, currently at service at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Governor of the Central Bank of Suriname under the new administration. Mr. Hoefdraad has expressed his willingness and is honored to accept this nomination. Mr. Hoefdraad is expected to take office when the term of the current Governor Mr. André Telting ends on September 15th, 2010. For more information: |
